Cricket is the national game of England and they always played good cricket since its beginning. They have participated in all the 10 previous world cups. They reached the semi-finals of these world cups three times but could not win that title even once. In 1979, they lost against West Indies, while Australia and Pakistan defeated them in the finals of 1987 and 1992 world cups respectively.
