Dubai, Zulqurnain Haider is the controversial wicket keeper batsman of Pakistani cricket team as he was included in the national team to play the test series. He left his team in Dubai and disappeared from there and next day, he reached in UK and applied for the political asylum there. He stayed there for few days then he was returned to the country and was dropped from the team. Since then, he is playing the tennis ball and the selectors have forgotten him. Now he gave an interview and said that he could be the second choice wicket keeper batsman for the team.
Now he is doing job in the bank and he plays some tournaments in Dubai and USA and can earn some money. He played his last first class match from Zarai Tariqiati Bank in 2014 while he played the list A match before this date. He also played the Tem Premier League in Dubai, which was the tennis ball event and the winning booty was fixed as two and half lac dirham. When he returned from UK, the then interior minister helped him to get a job in the bank and he also plays some tournaments in domestic and international cricket in UAE and US and he manages some amount from there.
He also showed his desire to come back to the national team. He said in an interview that he has some issues with some players and now they are not part of the national team. He has good relations with some players of the national team. He said that Sarfaraz Ahmed is performing well in the team and he can be second best wicket keeper batsman of the team.
