Pakistan took 11 bronze medals and 2 silver medals during Commonwealth Senior Wrestling Championship 2016 that were held in Singapore.
On the last day of this championship, two Pakistani players managed to play the final match in freestyle wrestling but both lost their matches to their Indian opponents. In 57 kg event, M Bilal took silver medal after lost to Indian wrestler while M Inam remained silver medalist in 86 kg category after being defeated by India’s Deepak.
There were total 8 Pakistani athletes that participated in this tournament in freestyle and Greco-Roman events and they bagged 13 medals in all.
M Inam told after taking the medal that the Commonwealth Games will be held in India in 2018 and this event provided them good experience before the main event. He told that he played a close match in final while taking part in this tournament is very helpful for them.
