Shahid Afridi has prepared a plan for the T20 world cup 2016 which will be held in India next year. Pakistani captain needs two good all rounder. According to him, he got a good opener Mukhtar Ahmed and he told the selectors to take experiments now.
In an interview, he said there should be no change in the team 4 to 5 months before the world cup. It was very pleasing for him to play the international cricket in the country before the end of his career. He is more worried about the domestic system than the absence of international cricket. There is no excuse of international teams not coming to Pakistan. T20 world cup will be played next year in March & April in India. Shahid Afridi is confident to win the T20 world cup like 2009 world cup. He said he requires two good all rounder and hard hitters for the mega event.
Shahid Afridi also captained the T20 Pakistani team which played against Zimbabwe recently when it toured Pakistan as a first international team after six years. He said it was a big occasion for him as he got a chance to play in front of his home crowd before the end of his career. He said he really enjoyed the series and the world has seen anxiety of the crowd for international cricket. Hopefully more teams will also visit Pakistan.
In replying a question, he said that domestic cricket is more worrying issue than the qualification of Pakistani team in the Champions Trophy. We should not make excuse of the absence of international matches as we have the example of South Africa which made its domestic cricket strong despite international cricket not being played in the country due to which best players emerged after the end of sanctions. On this level, it is required to bring international level facilities and professionalism.
