Regarding the venues of T20 World Cup 2016 a deadlock has happened among the Indian and ICC. On the five venues the ICC is looking forward to schedule a match however the BCCI want to perform matches on 8 venues. Probably the Chenai city of Chairman governing body Srinivasan, is as well not going to be listed in the world cup venues. In the annual meeting of the ICC the final decision is going to be taken. As per to the reports, the 2016 T20 world cup is going to be hosted by India whereas this event is going to be carried out next year.
Yesterday in Mumbai a meeting was carried among the officials of ICC and BCCI. In this meeting, the world cup possible venues were discussed. The ICC recommended limiting the event to 5 cities whereas the Indian Board suggested eight venues.
As well throughout the meeting, Chenai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium matter was discussed. Because for the last 3 years the City Corporation has detained its three stands and as well the council does not want to conduct matches in front of the empty stands due to this matter the ICC is not willing to perform matches in this stadium. The Chairman of ICC and Tamil Nadu Cricket Association is Srinivasan who is looking forward to take in this stadium in the list of hosting stadiums of this T20 world cup event.
On the other hand in the list of eight hosting cities which is presented by BCCI Chennai is as well not listed. As per to BCCI, these 16 teams are going to be playing 35 matches which is scheduled to be conducted from 11th March 2016 to 3rd of April 2016. In case there will be five stadium hosting this event, each stadium is going to be get seven matches and it will be not easy to fill the stadium in so many matches however ICC thinks that by performing these matches the expenses is going to be increased in eight venues. As per to the reports, BCCI has confirmed to fulfill the travel expense of the players however the final decision regarding this issue is going to be taken in the end this month in ICC meeting.
