Rain Restricted to 50 Overs of Play on 1st Day of 2nd Test in Melbourne

Pakistan was 142 runs for the loss of 4 wickets when rain stopped the 1st day’s play between Pakistan and Australia during 2nd test match in Melbourne. Play of only 50.5 overs was possible on the 1st day of the match due to heavy rain.

Pakistan decided to bat first after winning the toss and the team lost its 1st wicket in 13th over at the total score of 18 when Sami Aslam got out on 09. Later, Bababr Azam also lost his wicket at 60 while his individual score was 23. Younis scored 21 runs and he got out at the score of 111 after the 3rd wicket partnership of 51 runs.

After his departure, captain Misbah came but his bad form continues as he lost his wicket at 125 runs after scoring just 11 runs. The rain stopped the play after just 50.5 overs while Pakistani team was batting at 142 for 4. Azhar and Asad were at the crease with scores of 66 and 04 respectively. From Australian side, J Bird took 2 wickets whiel 1 wicket each was taken by Lyon and Hazlewood.
