For test, ODI and T20 matches, PCB has appointed Misbah ul Haq, Azhar Ali and Shahid Afridi as captains respectively while the vice captain for one day team will be Sarfraz Ahmed.
During a press conference in Lahore, Chairman PCB said that both experienced players Misbah ul Haq and Shahid Afridi have retired from ODI cricket but Shahid Afridi will retain his position as T20 captain while Misbah ul Haq will be remain as the test team captain of national team. Another experienced captain Younis Khan has not retired which is good news because he is a disciplined player.
Sheharyar Khan also added that fitness of Pakistani team was not good as compared to several other teams and now they are making a new team with a new captain Azhar Ali. Though, he was not in the ODI world cup squad but he proved his captainship qualities on national level while Sarfraz Ahmed also played superbly during difficult situation in the world cup. Sarfraz will now be the vice captain of Pakistan ODI and T20 team.
PCB Chairman also told that the last 10 years have changed the cricket much due to which the new selection committee is comprised of players who are aware of the modern game. Haroon ur Rasheed will now be chairman of new selection committee while Saleem Jaffer and Kabir Khan will be the members of this selection committee.
