Despite the presence of several star players, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the IPL final for the 3rd time as RCB was defeated by Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2016 final by 8 wickets.
SRH batted first in the final that was played in Bangalore. Opening start of 63 runs was given by captain Warner and Shikhar Dhawan after which Dhawan got out for 28 runs while Henriques could not remain at the crease for long.
But Warner batted well and scored 69 runs of 38 balls with 3 sixes and 8 fours. Later, Yuvraj played well by scoring 38 of just 23 balls. But the most important part was played by Ben Cutting who scored 39 runs with 3 fours and 4 sixes in just 15 balls. In their complete 20 overs, SRH gave the target of 209 runs to RCB.

RCB started well as they scored 114 in just 11 overs due to superb batting by Gayle and Kohli. Gayle scored 76 runs with 8 sixes and 4 fours while Kohli scored 54 runs. But other main batsmen deVilliers, Watson and Rahul could only score 05, 11 and 11 runs respectively. In their allotted overs, RCB could only manage to score 200 runs for the loss of 7 wickets and thus lost het match to SRH with 8 runs.
