Pakistan’s ODI team captain Azhar Ali says that his team will perform brilliantly in next year’s Champions Trophy in order to make a direct place in ICC world cup 2019.
While giving interview to ICC website, the batsman said that they want to win maximum number of matches during Champions’ Trophy as it is an important tournament for them. By improving its ODI ranking, Pakistan can make a direct place in world cup. He told they want to perform better by learning from their mistakes as they will play several ODI matches before the tournament.
Azhar Ali said that they have won ODI and T20 world cups but could not win the Champions trophy so far. Now they want to win this important trophy also as the team has several good players. Pakistan can win the tournament if they perform well. In the next 12 months, Pakistan team is expected to rise as a strong team and they will try their best to win this tournament of good teams.
