He said that Pakistan won the final match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 against India and the national team came back on the track. He said that Pakistan played all matches in the mega event and he won four matches with great margin against the powerful teams and the morale of the Pakistani cricket is boosted up.
The ex captain and the popular cricketer wrote the column and he mentioned that Pakistani cricket team showed the excellent performance in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and the fans will never forget this come back of the national team. They won the final match against India with great performance and it has raised the heads of the nation with proud.
The ex captain said that the young players like Hassan Ali, Shadab Khan and Fakhar Zaman has shown the tremendous performance and it has proved that Pakistan possesses extensive talent and Sarfaraz Ahmed has done wonderful captaincy to lead the national team to the apex of the cricket.
Pakistan has poor track record against India in the mega events but the players did not take care of this lack of performance against India but they played bravely and they became successful in bringing the Indian team under pressure in this mega event. When the match was started, Fakhar Zaman was feeling difficulty in playing the aggressive strokes then Azhar Ali started p[laying aggressively and he played some excellent stokes. He did the responsibility being the senior player and Fakhar became set and he also played well and completed his first century in his one day international cricket record. The following batsmen also played well and they became successful in gathering more and more runs and took the total to the 338 runs in 50 overs, which was the huge total and it put Indian team under pressure.
When India started its inning, they had to make 339 runs, which is very big target and their top order batsmen could not survivor on the magic balls of Muhammad Amir and they started out and the pressure was out on the middle order and lower end players and they could not survive in it. Muhammad Amir claimed the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli. Shadab Khan and Hassan Ali also performed well and they claimed two and three wickets respectively. Indian batting line up was flopped badly and they could not reach to the half of the total set by Pakistani cricket team.
