When he reached at the crease, Pakistan cricket team was in critical condition and he set up three over fifty partnerships with Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik and Imad Waseem and he took total of Pakistani cricket team to 250. He scored 105 runs and he became first Pakistani batsman, who scored this highest total at Lords cricket ground, Jos Butler of England and Sangakkara of Sri Lanka scored centuries in 2014 in the similar match. Sangakkara scored two centuries, Adam Gilchrist and Tim Payne made one century each against England on their soil before Sarfaraz. He has wonderful track record against England in the one day international matches record and he made three fifties in the five ODIs but he has poor record in the test matches and he did not scored single fifty in the 13 test matches innings.
