Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the new world cup squad to play the upcoming ICC Cricket world cup 2019. ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 will be played in England and Wales from 30 May and all of the test playing nations and other teams are selected to play this mega event. The Chief Selector of PCB, Inzamam ul Haq has announced the names of the players, who are picked to play the coming mega event in England. The chief selector has announced the names of 15 players but unfortunately, the names of Muhammad Amir and Asif Ali did not become part of this list. Sarfaraz Ahmed will be captain of the national team while Shoaib Malik is appointed as vice captain of the national squad and this announcement came late on Thursday.

The selection committee selected the players from the core players and no surprise inclusion was made to play this mega event. The national squad is comprised of the players like Sarfaraz Ahmed (c), Shoaib Malik (vc), Fakhar Zaman, Imam Ul Haq, Abid Ali, Muhammad Hafeez, Babar Azam, Haris Sohail, Imad Waseem, Shadab Khan, Junaid Khan, Hassan Ali, Faheem Ashraf, Muhammad Hasnain and Shaheen Shah Afridi.
Muhammad Amir is part of the team during tour to England and if he plays well there, then he can be considered to be selected in the national team. The cricket board has announced the world cup squad at such time, when PCB is facing some internal issues on the appointment of Wasim Khan on the post of MD and the board of governor is taking PCB to court on this issue. The head coach Mickey Arthur has high hopes with the great player, Muhammad Amir and he said that he is the player of big match.
Pakistani cricket team left for England on 23 April from Lahore and it will play the England series from 05 May to 19 May 2019, which will help the team to set in the English conditions and adjust themselves to play the upcoming mega event.
