Pakistani team new record 1000 sixes in Test

Pakistani team became the first Asian team to hit 1000 sixes in test matches. The team achieved this award in the Mirpur test match against Bangladesh. Before the match, the teams of Pakistan and India were equal in the record with 995 sixes each but now Pakistan has reached the tally to 1005. So far, the teams with highest number of sixes include Australia (1463), West Indies (1429), England (1409) and New Zealand (1060). Misbah ul Haq also completed his fifty of sixes in this match.

Apart from that, it is the third time that Pakistan gives the target of over 500 to his opponent. Before that, Pakistan gave this target to India in 2006 and Australia in 2006 and won these matches with 341 and 356 runs respectively. Only one team lost a match after taking 300 or more runs lead. Bangladeshi opening batsman Tamim Iqbal scored 3,000 runs during Mirpur test and became the second only batsman after Habibul Bashar (3026) to do so.

Tamim Iqbal was batting on 32 on the second innings against Pakistan. So far, he has made 3010 runs and 17 more runs will take him passed the score of Habib al Bashar. In this match, Shakib al Hasan has also completed 1000 runs in Sher e Bangla National Stadium. He achieved this target against Pakistan during his 89 (n.o) innings. So far, he has taken his score to 1045 runs while he is the only Bangladeshi batsman to complete 1000 runs on a venue.
