Oval, Pakistan played the fourth and final test match at Oval against England, in which Pakistan got the victory by 10 wickets. Both the teams played four test matches during this test series and both the teams won 2 matches each and the series became level.
When the final test match was started at Oval, England won the toss and decided to play first. Pakistan gave the test cap to young Iftikhar Ahmed to play in replacement of Muhammad Hafeez. England scored 328 runs in the first innings, despite of the early losses of five wickets before hitting 100 runs. Pakistan started its inning and it had to face early loss of Sami Aslam but the batting line up continued their resistance against the powerful battery of English pacers. Asad Shafique scored 109 runs and Younis Khan scored 218 runs, which led the team to the strong position and it made 542 runs and gave the lead of 214 runs to England. In the second innings, England faced some problems, when their four wickets were fallen on mere 88 runs and the remaining batsmen could resistance to some extent. England scored 253 runs in the second innings and took the lead of 39 runs and gave the target of 40 runs to Pakistan, which achieved this target without losing any wicket and it won the test match and leveled by series by 2-2. This match was started on 11 August and it was finished on the fourth day and Pakistani national team gave the wonderful and beautiful gift to the Pakistani nation, which was busy in celebrating their 70th Independence Day.
In the award ceremony, Younis Khan is declared the man of the match and he was awarded with the prizes while Misbah Ul Haq, skipper of Pakistani team shared his man of the series award with English all rounder, Chris Woakes, who also showed brilliant performance in this series. The fans of cricket in Pakistan have shown their pleasure on this beautiful occasion. Pakistani bowlers Sohail Khan and Yasir Shah have shown the brilliant performance during the match.
