Pakistan Wins First Match In Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament

Pakistan defeated Canada with 3-1 in its first match of Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament and started the tournament with a victory.

Pakistan is playing with a relatively junior team while it is Pakistan’s first match after 10 months. In the 1st quarter, no goal could be scored due to defensive play by both the teams. Pakistan forward line started attacking in the 2nd quarter and Arslan Qadir scored 1st goal for Pakistan in the 27th minute.

Arslan Qadir also scored 2nd goal for Pakistan in the next minute through rebound of a penalty corner. In the 3rd quarter, Canada played aggressively but could not score due to Pakistan’s strong defense. In the 4th round, Canada scored its 1st goal but M Tauseeq scored 3rd goal for Pakistan which ensured victory for Pakistan. On 9th April, Pakistan team will play its second match against New Zealand.
