Pakistan leveled the 5 match series 1-1 after defeating Australia in the 2nd ODI match. The ‘man of the match’ award was given to acting captain M Hafeez.
Melbourne Cricket Ground hosted this match during which Pakistan lost just 4 wickets while chasing the Australian target of 221. During 1st wicket partnership, Sharjeel and Hafez scored 68 runs and Sharjeel got out at that point after scoring 29 runs. M Hafeez 74 runs while Babar Azam lost his wicket at 34. Shoaib Malik remained not out till end and scored 42 runs.

In the 1st innings, Australia managed to score 220 runs. Captain Steven Smith was the only good scorer for Australia as he scored 60 runs. The first three Australian wickets were taken for just 41 runs with the fall of Warner (16), Usman Khawaja (17) and M Marsh (0). Travis Head also lost his wicket at the score of 86.

Maxwell got out at 128 and Smith lost his wicket at the score of 193. M Wade got out after scoring 35 runs. The last three wickets also fell early. From Pakistan side, M Amir took 3 wickets while the other main wicket takers are Imad Wasim and Junaid Khan with 2 wickets each.
