Pakistan hockey team will play Azlan Shah hockey tournament in April. This tournament is conducted in Malaysia and 6 teams are allowed to participate in this tournament. Now the organizers of the tournament have increased the number of teams from 6 to 8 and Pakistan is at 7 position in world ranking hockey teams, so it is allowed to join the ranking and play this prestigious tournament. Japan is also allowed to play this tournament as this team is also located at the 8th position. Other six teams in included with host Malaysia, India, New Zealand, Argentina, Australia and Canada. Now Pakistan and Japan will also include this tournament and they will also play in this format of hockey, which will be played in April this year.
Pakistan Hockey Federation faced the severe financial problems and they felt sorry to play this tournament in last year then next year, Malaysia did not invite Pakistan hockey team to play this tournament, by taking the revenge from Pakistan to refuse to play the hockey tournament. This hockey tournament has been played since 1983 and it is played every year. Pakistan hockey team participates in this tournament and shows the tremendous performance. Pakistan hockey team has already won 3 gold medal, 6 silver and 2 bronze medal, and proved his efficiency in world hockey.
