Pallekele, Pakistan won the third and last test match against Sri Lanka and grabbed the series by 2-1. Pakistan played well in the fourth innings and it got the score of 377 runs with the help of two century partnerships. The first century partnership was made between Shan Masood and Younis Khan, which was concluded with 242 runs. The other century partnership was made between Younis Khan and Misbah ul Haq and both players grabbed 127 runs.
The main thing of Pakistan second batting is that both Shan Masood and Younis Khan scored centuries and they contributed in the victory of Pakistan. When they started the inning, Pakistan went into loss of two wickets with just 13 runs. Then Pakistan achieved the target of 377 runs with the loss of only one more wicket. When the game of fifth day was started, Pakistan needed 147 runs and it has eight wickets. The overnight score was 230 for 2 wickets. When Pakistan started its game, Pakistan lost third wicket on 255 runs and Shan Masood was stumped out at 125 runs. Then Misbah came on the wicket and he played well with Younis Khan and took the innings to the end. Both players, Shan Masood and Younis Khan played record partnership and they brought Pakistan to the brink of success. When Shan Masood returned to the pavilion, Pakistan was 122 runs away from the target. This is the first victory of Pakistan on the soil of Sri Lanka after 2006 and now Pakistan stands victorious after nine years.
