Pakistan vs England played the second test match in Headingly, Leeds in which England defeated Pakistan by an inning and 55 runs, which is the great success of English team in this test series. The second test of the current series between Pakistan v England was scheduled at Leeds from 01 June to 05 June but this 2nd test match was finished on the third day.

When the match was started, Pakistani skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and elected to bat first, which was proved very destructive decision and whole Pakistani cricket team was bowled out at mere 174 runs in which Shadab Khan remained top scorer by 56 runs. When English team started its first inning, it scored 363 runs for all out in which Butler made 80 runs. English team got the lead of 189 runs against Pakistan and it was the crucial total for the staggering Pakistani batting line. Pakistan lost its initial three wickets for 42 runs and after that the fourth wicket partnership was developed for 42 runs between debutant, Usman Salah Uddin and Imam ul Haq. Then Imam ul Haq was out on 34 runs and Usman Salah Uddin lost his wicket for 33 runs. Opener Azhar Ali made 11 runs, Asad Shafique made 5 runs, Haris Sohail 8, captain Sarfaraz Ahmed 8 runs, Shadab Khan 4 runs, Faheem Ashraf 3 runs and Hasan Ali made 9 runs. The whole batting line was restricted to 134 runs and in this way, England won the second test match at Leeds by an inning and 55 runs. At the end of the match, Jose Butler was declared the man of the match while Muhammad Abbas is awarded with man of the series award.
