A 3 match hockey series between arch rivals Pakistan and India will be played next month in English city of Silva. PHF has no objection on these matches, according to secretary Shahbaz senior. He added that hockey of both the nations will these matches and they are a good symbol for both teams.
Since past 9 years, no mutual series between the hockey teams of Pakistan and India could be held due to strained relations between the governments of both the teams. PHF made several programs of home and away series between India and Pakistan in the past but India refused to send its team due to governmental restrictions. Now a 3 match hockey series between the retired players of both the teams will be organized by Silva Hockey Club in England. Series organizer says that 3 match hockey series between the former players of Pakistan and India will be very interesting as both the teams are great names of world hockey.
Silva will host all the matches of this series on 13th, 14th and 115th of May 2016. The players present in Pakistan team are Rehan Butt, Salman Akber, M Arshad, Babar Abdullah, Ali Ifraz, M Ateeq, M Rizwan, M Khalid, Adnan Zakir, Akhter Ali, Tariq Aziz, M Hussain, M Shareef, M Saqlain and M Imran. Coach of the team is tahir Zaman. Players of the Indian team include Yuvraj Walmeki, Gabraj Singh, Kamaldeep Singh, Harpal Singh, Vikran Kanth, Rajpal Singh, S Singh, N Apana, Bopia Kandanda, Indarjeet Singh, G Singh, Teron Perera, Kandanda Pana, Deepak Thakur and Prabjut Singh while the coach of the team is Sandeep Sagwan.
