Pakistan took the lead of 1-0 in the 4 match series after defeating England by 75 runs in the first test match played at the historical stadium of Lord’s. Yasir Shah bowled superbly and took 4 wickets in the 2nd innings while he took 10 wickets in the match which qualified him for man of the match award. Apart from that, Rahat Ali took 3 wickets while Amir and Wahab took 2 and 1 wickets respectively.

English team got out for 207 runs in 75.5 overs. Pakistani camp was slightly disturbed after tea break due to batting of Bairstow (48) and Woakes (23) but the situation completely changed as Yasir Shah dismissed both set batsmen. Later, the remaining English batsmen could not perform well and the wickets fell one by one.

From England side, Gary balance (43), James Vince (42), J Root (19) remained other top scorers. It should be cleared that it is the first Pakistani victory in Lord’s after 1996.
