In the final match of Pakistan Cup 2016, KPK defeated Punjab by 151 to win the title. The final match was played at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad during which KPK batted first and scored 311/9 in 50 overs and Punjab was restricted to 160 in 36.1 overs as they lost all their wickets.
Fakhar Zaman from KPK scored 115 runs in 111 balls with 12 fours and 3 sixes and remained ‘man of the match’. Ahmed Shahzad (62), Younis Khna (49) and Faheem Ashraf (31) were other main scorers from KPK. from Punjab side, the main wicket takers were Ammad Butt with 3 wickets and Ahsaan Adil with 2 wickets.
With chasing the score, Punjab lost its first wicket at 5 when opener Salman Butt lost his wicket for individual score of zero. Shan Masood (36), Shoaib malik (26) and M Rizwan (22) were main scorers from Punjab team. From KPK side, Yasir Shah and Zohaib Khan took 3 wickets each while Zia ul haq took 2 wickets.
