Umar Akmal will not be able to participate in ICC Champions Trophy due to fitness problems, testified by chief selector Pakistan cricket team Inzamam ul Haq.
In Lahore, Inzamam said while talking to media that Umar Akmal was fit before Pakistan Cup but fitness test of each player is taken by the team management before every series while Umar Akmal failed two tests in Birmingham. It forced the team management to send him back. The chief selector also said that Umar Akmal should give importance to his fitness as he wasn’t fit even in Australian tour.
According to Inzamam ul Haq, the names of Umar Ameen and Haris Sohail are under consideration for replacement of Umar Akmal as they both performed well in Pakistan Cup and one of them will be sent in England to play Champions Trophy.
