For the award of Cricketer of the Year 2014, International Cricket Council has announced the names of shortlisted candidates but no Pakistani player can make a place in the list.
For the award of best player of the year, ICC has announced the players list in different categories of cricket. For the test matches; David Warner, Mitchell Johnson and Angelo Mathews are in the list. For ODI cricket; the list includes Dale Steyn, Virat Kohli, Quinton de Cock, MS Dhoni and AB de Villiers while Ben Stokes, Jimmy Neesham, Corey Anderson, Alex Hales, Aaron Finch, Rangana Herath and Gary Ballance are present in the T20 cricket list.
Since 2004, ICC has been distributing the annual awards of best players and umpires and only Umar Gul, M Yousaf and umpire Aleem Dar have won the award for Pakistan.
