Real Madrid won the record-equal 18th consecutive match due to superb performance by Christiano Ronaldo at the Bernabeu while he also made two individual records also for himself.
In that match, Cristiano Ronaldo not only scored his 200th goal but he also became the player who hit most number of hat-tricks in La Liga.
He initially started his run by scoring on a disputed penalty and then completed his hat-trick with two more beautiful field goals. These goals also earned four points for his team Real Madrid.
This year, Ronaldo has performed superbly and is the favorite to win the 2014 Ballon d’Or award and while his substitution during the end of match; he was given standing praise by the crowd due to his superb performance.
Before this match, the hat-tricks of Ronaldo were equal to those of Alfredo DI Stefani of Madrid and Athletic Bilbao’s Telmo Zarra but he crossed them after this latest hat-trick. This was the 178th match of Ronaldo during which he scored his 200th goal in the Spanish League.
