Australia Thrash Pakistan by 220 runs Whitewashed

Sydney, Australia beat Pakistan in the third and final test match at Sydney cricket ground by 220 runs. Pakistan played three test matches against Australia but Pakistan could not manage to win any of the test matches and Australia won this third consecutive test match and got the lead of 3-0 in the current test series. Australia played aggressively from the first day of the third test match and they kept Pakistan under pressure during the whole test match and they ended Pakistani innings before the tea break on the final day of the test match at Sydney.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first and they scored 538 for 8 wickets as there was raining with the consistent intervals. Three test centuries were also included in the total of Australia score as David Warner scored 113 runs, Renshaw scored 184 and Peter Handscomb scored 110 runs. Pakistan started the first inning and no batsmen could score well except Younis Khan and Azhar Ali, who scored 175 runs not out and 71 runs respectively. Pakistan could make only 315 runs but Australia did not follow them on and they continue their inning.

Australian players came in the ground with the very aggressive mood and they scored well in few overs and reached to total 241 runs. Warner made the second fastest fifty of the test cricket history and they gave the target of 465 runs to Pakistan. Pakistani batsmen were failed one more time and they could not manage to get the target. This was the huge target and it was difficult for the Pakistani side to get this big total. Sharjeel Khan was given the test cap in this test match but he failed to show his performance during this test match. On the fifth and final day of the final test match, Pakistan lost 189 wickets just for 189 runs and Sarfaraz remained the highest scored in the second inning and no other batsman could show his performance in this test match.

Pakistani players could struggle to get this target but it was huge target and it was not possible for the Pakistani players to get it. This match was also affected by the rain and it was disturbed many times, when the match was forced to stop. Josh Hazlewood showed good performance as he took three wickets for 29 runs and there are other main bowlers like O’Keefe, Starc and Nathan Lyon, who showed their performance in this test match. This is the sixth consecutive defeat of Pakistani cricket team and Pakistan lost its ranking. Last year, Pakistan reached to the top of the test ranking but it could not stay there for long and lost the first position in the test ranking. Pakistan lost one test match against West Indies, two against New Zealand on their home ground and three test matches against Australia, which is not good sign for Pakistani cricket team.

Wahab Riaz and Muhammad Aamer were looking struggling in this test match and Yasir Shah could not impress in this test match too as he gave maximum score and got only one wicket in the second inning. Pakistan has to improve its batting and bowling as Australia has outclassed Pakistan in every department of the match. Pakistani skipper is also becoming overage and he should think about his retirement and it is reported that he started thinking over it to get the retirement from the international cricket.
