Australia Beat Pakistan by 39 Runs in First Test

Australia and Pakistan are playing the current three test matches series in Australia in which the first day and night test match was played at Brisbane from 15 December to 19 December. Both the teams played and they showed their temper. Australia beat Pakistan by 39 runs in the first day and night test match and led the series by 1-0.

Australia did the batting first and scored 429 runs in which two magnificent tons were included. Captain Smith scored 130 runs and Peter Handscomb scored 105 runs, which contributed in the big total of the Australian side. Pakistani pacers Muhammad Aamer and Wahab Riaz took four wickets each in the first inning and Yasir Shah took two wickets. When Pakistan started its batting, the batting line was badly flopped as no batsmen scored well except Sarfaraz, who scored 59 runs and Muhammad Aamer scored 21, Sami Aslam 22 runs and Babar Azam scored 19 runs. Pakistan could manage only 142 runs lagging behind 287 runs of the Australian total.

Australia did not follow on Pakistan and they started their second inning and made 202 runs for the loss of five wickets and they declared their innings by giving the total of 490 runs as their target to chase in their fourth inning in over two days. Pakistani batsmen failed to plan to achieve this big target and they lost their wickets with the regular intervals. Some batsmen like Azhar Ali and Younis Khan, who scored 71 and 65 runs respectively, gave the good start to Pakistani team. Younis khan played the reverse sweep, which was totally irresponsible shot and it is the main reason of the Pakistani failure to get this total. If one or two batsmen carried on their innings with responsibility, then there was no reason, Pakistan could manage to get this big total with the tremendous play of the lower order batsmen. Asad Shafique came into form at the right time and he scored 137runs, which was the remarkable inning and he made partnerships with Aamer for 92 runs, with Wahab for 66 runs and with Yasir Shah for 71 runs and bring the total of Pakistan close to the target score.

Australian pacer, Mitchell Starc is the turning bowler, who changed the situation of the match by taking the wicket of Asad Shahfique at 449 runs and Yasir Shah could not survive on the last wicket and he was run out at 33 runs Australia won this test match by 39 runs.
