Umar Akmal is a middle order Pakistani batsman but he wants to play as a top order batsman. Umar Akmal says that he is always compared with Virat Kohli but their batting positions are not considered during this comparison while batting position is very important for every batsman.
Recently, Umar Akmal played an important role in victory of his team Lahore Qalandars against Islamabad United during PSL by scoring 66 runs on 42 balls with 3 sixes and 8 fours.
After the match, the batsman said that he and Virat Kohli are compared without mentioning their batting order. Since the start of their careers, he and Kohli are continuously batting at 3rd and 6th position. He should be given chance at number 3 and then should be asked if he doesn’t perform at that position. At number 6 position, it will not be possible for Virat Kohli to perform like his current performance.
Previously, Umar Akmal has demanded several times for change in his batting position.
