In Dubai, the exposure ceremony of the trophy of PSL’s 2nd edition was held. During this ceremony, captains of all the 5 league teams were present.
Najam Sethi, Pakistan Super League’s Chairman, said during the occasion that world’s best company has prepared this trophy whose name is “Spirit Trophy”. 50,000 crystals are used during preparation of this trophy which makes it a unique and beautiful trophy.
Najam Sethi was hopeful about success of the PSL’s 2nd edition like its 1st edition. He said that final of this PSL will be played in Lahore and they are bringing the cricket back in Pakistan through PSL. He added that three other trophies will be given apart from the winner trophy during the event. The best batsman, best wicketkeeper and best bowler will receive “Haneef Muhammad Trophy”, “Imtiaz Ahmed Trophy” and “Fazal Mehmood Trophy” respectively.
Islamabad United’s captain Misbah ul Haq said that their team is quite confident after winning the 1st edition of PSL and they will also win the 2nd edition of the tournament as team’s combination is very good. Playing in UAE will prove helpful for national cricketers and they will try to play good cricket. Sarfraz Ahmed, captain of “Quetta Gladiator”, said that they could not win the tournament last year but they are ready to take the trophy this year and they will try to play the same good cricket like previous year.
Karachi Kings’ captain Kumar Sangakkara, Lahore Qalandars’ captain B McCullum and Peshawar Zalmi’s captain Darren Sammy also expressed their hope to play good cricket and win the series this year.
