The Indian sports channel acquires broadcasting rights for the PSL 2018.
The sport channel agreed to display the all 34 matches of the PSL live which are going to start from 23rd February.
This is a huge achievement for the Pakistan cricket board, PSL gave right to the parties and the franchises to make PSL a global success by including stars like Mitchell Johnson, Kumar sangakkara and Angelo Mathews.
Better Revenue and Bigger Audience
DD Sports is a brand new channel being launched by the discovery communication in India last year.
For the people who don’t know about the parent company, discovery communication own by the discovery channel and they also operates other television networks in US which includes, discovery, animal planet and TLC.
Discovery communication has shown their interest to expand themselves to sports section as well, the channel promises a hug audience which is also willing to pay. This dynamic shift led to the ownership of euro sport in July 2015.
According to the agreement the PSL will be watched by over 1.34 billion peoples in India. Not only PCB will have the bigger audience but the revenue will also ramp up.
Indi holds a strong position in the world of cricket and presence in the Indian cricket market helps in getting opportunities for the PCB, after the terrorist’s attack 2009 on the Srilankan players in Lahore.
We hope that the PSL also gets the same impact as IPL had when it was introduced in India for the first time.
