Lahore, Peshawar Zalmi defeated Quetta Gladiators in an interesting final match of Pakistan Super League, which was being played in Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on 5 March 2017. Both the teams tried their best to win the final match but Peshawar Zalmi showed their outstanding performance and they outclassed Quetta Gladiators. The overseas players of Peshawar Zalmi came to Pakistan to play the final match but Quetta Gladiators drafted the overseas players and they hire different foreign players to come to Pakistan and play the final of the PSL.
It was decided by the PCB to conduct the final match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators in Lahore and they made very tight security arrangements for this event to avoid any haphazard incident during the match. Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators did the toss and Gladiators decided to field first. Zalmi made 148 runs in 20 overs. When Zalmi started their inning, it made 28 runs in just 2 overs but they could not continue their pace and their batsmen were out regularly and consistently. The main batsmen were Kamran Akmal, Darren Sammy, Samuel, David Malan, who scored 40, 28, 19 and 17 runs respectively. The leading wicket takers of Quetta Gladiators were Ermit, Hassaan Khan and Muhammad Nawaz, who got 3, 2 and 1 wicket respectively. Muhammad Hafeez and Iftikhar Ahmed failed to make big score.
When Quetta Gladiators started their batting, their batting line was strangled as Morne Wyk, Inam ul Haque and Ahmed Shahzad could not make good score. Saad Nasim struggled to 4 runs and he was also bowled out by Wahab Riaz. Sarfaraz Ahmed scored only 22 runs on 11 balls. Sean Ervine made 24 runs on 19 balls and Anwar Ali made 20 runs on 24 balls and no other batsmen could enter in the double figure. All team of Quetta Gladiators was bowled out for 90 runs and in this way, Peshawar Zalmi won the final match of PSL 2017 by 58 runs.
Huge number of spectators from Lahore and other cities got booked their tickets and they came in the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore to watch the final of PSL 2017. They were pleases with the performance of the players and they also witnessed the closing ceremony of this great event. The spectators faced many problems in getting the tickets and the online tickets were also cancelled. The leading singers showed their performance and they sang the songs to enhance the enthusiasm. The anchor persons also enhance the agility among the spectators.
