Pakistan leading and popular batsman, Umar Akmal remains in troubles but not for the good reasons. Now he has claimed about the bookies, who have approached to him about the spot fixing in 2015 Cricket World Cup.

The regulatory body of cricket in Pakistan, PCB summoned him to explain his comments after appearing before the Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) on 27 June 2018. The PCB has issued this show cause notice to the cricketer soon after his revelation of corrupt approaching to him during the biggest event of cricket. He said in an interview that he was offered $200,000 to play two dot balls in the group stage match of Pakistan against India.

He said that bookies contacted him before every game against the arch rivals and they asked him to sit on bench for games. But he turned down their offer by saying that he is sincere with his country and he would not accept their offer.

Under the ICC Anti Corruption Code 2018, every cricketer is bound to report such illegal incident when the bookies approach to them and if they do not so then the strict action will be taken against him. Now PCB will look whether the cricketer has already reported this event to authorities or not. He would be awarded severe punishment, if he has not reported this event to PCB earlier.
