There are several good domestic cricket players that scored lots of runs in domestic cricket but they could only get praises from higher authorities and they were ignored for the central contract.
There is a reason behind removal of Umar Akmal as he displeased the selectors by leaving the high performance camp for improvement in fitness and instead moved to England but no reason was provided for ignoring the selection of talented players like Fawad Alam, Khurram Manzoor, Imran Khan, Sohail Tanvir, Adnan Akmal, Sahibzada Farhan, Tabish Khan and Sadaf Hussain in the central contract.
Chief selector Inzamam’s nephew scored just 3 centuries in the previous season but he is included in the contract while Fawad Alam and Khurram Manzoor have scored 20 centuries each in first class but they are not included in any category of the central contract.
Chairman PCB and chief selector praised the performance of Sahibzada Farhan as he scored 331 runs in 5 matches of Pakistan Cup but he could not get central contract. On the other hand, Bilal Asif could only took 5 wickets in 4 matches of Pakistan Cup while there was objection on his bowling action also but even then he is included in the category “D”. Umar Ameen could not make his place in the Pakistan team but even then he is given the central contract.
Rahat Ali was declared unfit few months ago but he retained his place in the contract while Iftikhar Ahmed and Imran Khan were ignored once again despite performing well continuously. Soahil Tanvir is called to perform for the team at different occasions but he is not included in the contract while he is an expensive player in several foreign T20 leagues. All these ignored players are very dejected on this situation.
