On 10th August 2017, 11 players for teams of national T20 cricket tournament will be selected through a draft.
25th August to 10th September 2017 is the schedule of national T20 tournament that will be hosted by Multan. 11 players of 8 regional teams will be selected through draft while it is necessary to select one emerging player in each team.
The sources told that heads of all the regions have been directed by PCB to send names of their captains and 4 players by 6th August while selection of captains is conditioned with consulting chief selector Inzamam ul Haq.
On 10th August in Gaddafi Stadium, the draft process will be held during which captains and 11 players of each team will be selected. Captains will be consulted by a national selector, head of regional association and head coach before selection of players.
After national ODI and T20 tournaments, PCB has decided to introduce draft system also for regional teams of Quaid e Azam trophy. In each squad, there will be only 10 local players while the system is criticized by former players as unjust for local players.
