Dubai, Pakistan Super League third edition is being played in UAE and the first two stages of the PSL 3 have been completed. After the finishing of the league matches among all 6 participants of the mega event, the playoff stage is started. In the qualifier match of PSL 3, the match between Islamabad United v Karachi Kings was played on 18 March at Dubai Cricket stadium and this match was proved one sided due to very aggressive batting of the Kiwi batsman, Luke Ronchi.

When the match of the qualifier round was started between Karachi Kings v Islamabad United, KK won the toss and elected to bat first. They opened their first inning but their opening batsmen failed to give big target to the opponent. Khurram Manzoor was caught and bowled by Muhammad Sami for just 17 runs. The next batsman was Babar Azam, who could not move the score board and he was declared out on zero. Eoin Morgan was the third batsmen, who scored 21 runs but he could not manage to build up the inning of their team. Colin Ingram and Joe Denly played well and they built up the partnership of 82 runs and they moved the total to the respectable one. Denly completed his fifty and he was out by hit wicket on the ball of Faheem Ashraf. The next batsman was Shahid Afridi. Ingram hit about 6 sixes and he made 68 runs on 30 balls and he took the total of his team to 154 runs for 4 wickets in 20 allotted overs.

Islamabad United started their inning and their opening batsmen, Sahibzada Farhan and Luke Ronchi started their inning and due to their aggressive batting, IU scored 69 runs in just 4 overs. Farhan scored 29 runs and he was given out. Ronchi made 94 runs on 38 balls in which his towering sixes were also included and he remained not out. Islamabad United achieved the targeted score in the 13th over on the loss of just two wickets. With this win, Islamabad United reached to the final of the mega event, which will be played on 25th March 2018 in Karachi and the winner of the second eliminator will play against them. During the match, the fielding standard of the Karachi Kings was not up to the mark and he dropped various easy catches and they also lost the match. They also left the balls many time and they resulted into many fours and Islamabad United did not feel any difficulty to get their target.
