Karachi, Pakistan Super League third edition was played in UAE and Pakistan and this mega event was started from 22 February and the final match of this event was played in Karachi on 25 March 2018. The final of the event was played between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United and IU won the final match of this event and it became the new PSL champion for the second time.

Pehawar Zalmi played first and they scored 148 runs in 20 overs. Kamran Akmal failed in this big match and he made 1 runs while Fletcher made 21 runs, Muhammad Hafeez made 8 runs and he failed to contribute in the long partnership. The successful batsmen were Chris Jordan and Luke Dawson, who scored 36 and 33 runs respectively. Saad Nasim made only 2 runs and Daren Sammy made only 6 runs. Shadab Khan claimed three wickets while Hussain Talat and Samit Patel could get two wickets each. Peshawar Zalmi made only 148 runs in the 20 overs and gave the target of 149 runs to Islamabad United.
When Islamabad United started their batting, the openers of IU, Luke Ronchi and Sahibzada Farhan gave the opening stand of 96 runs and Islamabad United lost their first wicket on 96 runs when Ronchi was given out on 52 runs. Sahibzada Farhan scored 44 runs and Asif Ali scored 26 runs on 6 balls and he remained not out till the victory of his team. The captain of Islamabad United, JP Duminy was given the trophy on this moment. At the end of the match, other awards like best batsman of the event, best bowler of the event and other awards were given to the leading players. The captains of both teams showed their contentment on the security arrangements and they said that the international cricket should restore in Pakistan in the wake of wonderful security arrangements.
